C-Prize is an incentivised technology competition to push the boundaries of what’s possible through technology.
For information about C-Prize 2019, see the Callaghan Innovation website.
Run by Callaghan Innovation every two years, competition entrants are challenged to come up with technologies that deliver solutions to real industry problems.
The bold people who participate in C-Prize challenges have their innovations reviewed and recognised by a panel of industry professionals, prominent investors, and entrepreneurs. Cash prizes, and international market exposure are up for grabs.
The inaugural 2015 C-Prize focussed on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drone) technology for the screen industry. You can watch the 2015 competition video here. 2015 winners Vortech won a NZ$50,000 cash prize, an expense paid trip to exhibit at the 2016 NAB trade show in Las Vegas and wide market exposure through Callaghan Innovation networks. C-Prize finalists Dotterel also attended NAB 2016, and went to win the “overall most innovative product” at the tradeshow.
Through in-depth industry engagement and design workshops the opportunity for “Next generation wearable technology to improve human performance and wellbeing” was landed for C-Prize 2017. Find out more details about the 2017 challenge.
